No Advertising
I will not put a "Website Designed by..." link on any of your pages. I only ask to be included on your Links page (if you decide to have one), but I do not require it. I do not want you to be a surfing advertisement. If you are happy with my services, please suggest me to your friends and family.
Websites/E-Stores
I design websites (and e-stores) with the Joomla content management system. It's easy to use and easy to to teach. I specialize in websites that are straight to the point and content-driven - my focus is on ease of use for you and your website visitors - and making it more affordable to have a website built for you.
Mobile-Ready Websites
If you would like, at no extra charge I will ensure your website is fast-loading and easily accessible on all major phones - iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.
Blogs
For blogs, I use Wordpress. It's unmatched in flexibility and like Joomla, easy for anyone to learn, whether you're computer-savvy or not.
Forums/Bulletin Boards
If you would like a set of user forums, I usually install SMF (Simple Machines Forum). It's a great bulletin board system and there are lots of ways to customize it. I also like phpBB.
The three programs mentioned above are all great resources, and they're free! Using them enables me to keep costs down. But so much more than that, they are the best examples of their respective types available today - free or not.
Customization and Basic SEO
I love coming up with new looks for sites. In my spare time (when I have it!) I love to draw and paint acrylics. Your website will have a unique, beautiful look and feel. Also, I will fundamentally optimize your site for search engines, as well as submit to Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Time Frame
I am generally able to get websites up and running, start to finish, in about two weeks. If you are transferring a domain name from one registrat to another, it wil take a bit longer.
Website Education
I'll help you understand the fine points of owning a website and using it effectively. I will also teach you how to make basic changes to your site - if you can work with programs like Word and Excel, then learning how to basic edits of your website pages will be no problem at all.
Domain Name and Hosting
If you do not yet have hosting or a domain name, I suggest either 1&1 or GoDaddy. They are both large companies with lots of web servers, enabling them to keep costs down for their services. I would be happy to set up your account (in your name) at either one, or any other host of your choice. You can get your domain and web hosting for $50-70/year, which is a great deal!!Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I would be happy to familiarize myself with any web application I haven't mentioned - free of charge - but please understand it may take me a bit longer to get your site up and running.
*** If you would like a website plus blog/forum/e-store, please make sure you purchase a hosting plan that has enough MySQL databases. Also, most the applications I use will only work on servers running Linux (no Windows).
